Last year saw Rode launch the Rodecaster Video, a portable device that was billed as an all-in-one video and audio production console. The company has now followed it up with the Rodecaster Video S, which streamlines things further to create an even more compact profile and lower pice.
The Rodecaster Video S combines video switching, recording, and streaming capabilities with a fully integrated professional audio mixer. Powered by the same processor as the Rodecaster Video, the Rodecaster Video S supports 1080p video, and features three HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, and a USB-C port for device connectivity. Microphones are supported via two XLR 1/4″ jack combo inputs, as well as support for wired headphones. Each of the console’s nine stereo audio channels are supported by EQ, compressor, noise gate, de-esser, and multi-effects by APHEX.
The Rodecaster Video S launches November 24, and is currently available for preorder at $499.
