Calvin Williams, described as a “casual shift worker” at London’s Royal Albert Hall, has been handed a suspended sentence for the brazen theft of microphones and other equipment from the venue.
In 2025, Williams stole over $17,000 worth of equipment from the concert hall before being fired. Amazingly, his security access was not deactivated, and when he returned to the venue to appeal his firing, Williams walked out with another $40,000 worth of gear.
During trial, Williams admitted to the theft, as well as his attempts to sell the equipment online. For his crimes, Williams was sentenced to six months of jail time, suspended for 18 months. According to The Standard, Williams was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work, 20 days of rehabilitation, and to pay Royal Albert Hall £8,400 (about $11,000) over two years.
