Shure is targeting content creators with its latest entry into the wireless clip-on microphone space. The new MoveMic Microphone System is comprised of a dual channel, wireless direct-to-phone lavalier mic, and a receiver kit that is available as a bundle or separate item. Featuring proprietary wireless software and a custom acoustic design, the MoveMic can connect directly to phones in two channel configurations (single and dual channel, called MoveMic One and MoveMic Two).
When connecting directly to a phone running iOS or Android, the MoveMic system is configured to be used with Shure’s MOTIV and MOTIV Video apps. If you’d like to interface the MoveMic with a different device like a camera or PC, the aforementioned Receiver makes that happen. Measuring 46mm x 22mm and weighing 8.2g, Shure touts the MoveMic system as providing professional-quality audio in a small, unobtrusive package.
“On-the-go interviews have become the primary way journalists, content creators, and TikTokers gather the thoughts, opinions, and experiences of people around the world,” said Eduardo Valdes, Associate Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management, at Shure. “The rise in this style of content has created an ideal opportunity to introduce an incredibly discreet, extraordinary-sounding wireless lavalier microphone system like MoveMic. We’ve applied our expertise as the leaders in professional wireless tools for performance, broadcast, and recording to create this super portable device. Creators will love that they can simultaneously send two channels of audio directly to their phone while keeping mics covert on camera.”
The MoveMic microphone has an IPX4 rating, and features a frequency range of 50Hz to 20kHZ while pairing with a device up to distances of 100 feet. The Shure MoveMic is available now in multiple configurations, with a MoveMic One (the single channel option) coming in at $249, and the MoveMic Two at $349.
