
Sonos has announced that it is continuing its personnel overhaul with the addition of Hugo Barra to its Board of Directors. Barra is joining as Mike Volpi, who is stepping down from the Board after 15 years. Before his current role as co-founder and head of product at AI company /dev/agents, Barra was vice president of the Oculus VR division at Meta.
Barra’s other work includes serving as vice president at Xiaomi, and vice president for Android product management at Google, where he is said to have “led the Android ecosystem from nascency through its first billion users.”

“Hugo is a world-class technologist with senior executive experience at several of the most important and successful consumer tech companies,” said Julius Genachowski, Chair of the Sonos Board. “He has a proven ability to turn cutting-edge innovation into great products – a great fit for Sonos.
