If you’d like to stay warm while showing your love for 80’s Apple devices, Throwboy has your back. The Seattle-based company manufactures pillows and blankets with retro tech flair. Their most recent offering is a 50×60-inch knit throw blanket that is made to look just like a 1980’s MacOS desktop screenshot. Founded in 1997, the company’s products definitely skew towards the Apple side, but also include items inspired by vinyl turntables, classic computer applications, and even video game consoles.

Other available items include pillows that resemble a 1984 Apple Macintosh, and even a 1998 iMac G3-inspired pillow for those with an affinity for 90’s nostalgia. If these retro comfort items have you intrigued, be sure to check out Ars Technica’s interview with ThrowBoy founder and CEO Roberto Hoyos about the company’s inspiration and beginnings. The entrepreneur discusses how he is currently aiming to localize production.
“I started the company by sewing all the pillows myself, but later I turned to outsourcing overseas,” says Hoyos. “It’s been my dream to bring production back to the US and to my backyard in the Pacific Northwest where Throwboy started, and the time is finally right.”
