WATCH: AI Ambience Generator V2 creates audio ambience from a still image

New tool builds upon last year's Version 1 by eliminating the need for a text input

AI-powered tools for creatives continue to proliferate across the market, with the newest addition being an update for Krotos Studio, Krotos’ sound design software. AI Ambience Generator V2 allows users to generate audio ambiences directly from an image, hypothetically eliminating the need for expansive sound libraries. Krotos says that this update provides new applications for film makers, video editors, and sound designers.

OpenAI releases Sora text-to-video AI model to the masses

AI Ambience Generator V1, which released last year, required text input from the user to generate a new ambience preset. The new update takes things a step further by requiring only an image, be it a film still, screenshot, or concept art, for the program to generate a custom prompt.

Key features of the AI Ambience Generator V2 update according to Krotos include:
  • Image-to-Sound Functionality: Upload an image to generate a scene-specific audio prompt, streamlining the process from visuals to sound.
  • Editable Prompts: Refine the AI-generated prompt to customize the mood, complexity, and energy level of the soundscape.
  • Content Expansion: Includes a 2.6GB AI Ambience Expansion Pack focused on urban environments.
  • Integration: Works effortlessly within DAWs, NLEs, or as a standalone tool to keep creators focused on their projects.
  • Advanced Control and Sharing: Multi-channel outputs allow detailed control over sound elements, while preset export makes sharing and reuse simple.
