Zoom has been hosting some very big calls as of late, as the videoconferencing platform has been utilized by several political groups to host fundraising calls for Vice President Kamala Harris with numbers that reached into the hundreds of thousands of attendees. On Monday, the company, most likely catching on to the trend during election season, announced a new single-user webinar feature that supports up to a staggering 1 million attendees.

“With this new and expanded capacity for webinars, Zoom is opening new opportunities for innovative organizations,” said Wayne Kurtzman, IDC Research vice president of Social, Communities, and Collaboration. “The rise of Zoom in this market now enables organizations to produce significant, large-scale, and engaging virtual events.”

The new feature allows customers to choose an audience size for their webinar, including 10K, 50K, 100K, 250K, 500K, and 1M attendee capacities. Additionally, each webinar package includes support from Zoom’s Event Services team. While spurred on by election season, Zoom is positioning the new feature as ideal for enterprise and entertainment spaces, as well as the public sector. From celebrity meet-and-greets to CEOs addressing their entire company at once, Zoom is aiming to take hold of the mass webinar space.
