Crestron is now shipping the latest addition to its MPC family of AV room controllers, the MPC-M50. Featuring a built-in 2-Series control system, the MPC-M50 fits onto a standard three-gang electrical box. A large LCD display includes four soft and seven hard key buttons with LED feedback, all programmable for controlling system functions such as power, source selection, transport control, audio settings, and lighting, among others, according to the company.

In addition to the LCD screen, the MPC-M50 has 16 programmable buttons, customizable backlit labeling, a volume control knob, 17 control ports, and wireless remote capability. Like the other MPC models, the new controller is available in black and white, mounts on a wall or podium, and integrates with Crestron RoomView software (recently updated) via Ethernet. SSL encryption provides a secure network connection.

The MPC-M50 can also interface directly with such devices and displays, projector, DVD players, and occupancy sensors, through its onboard control ports. Two bidirectional RS-232 COM ports, two IR/serial ports, six relays, and four input ports in addition to high-speed Ethernet offer connectivity options.

All MPC models communicate directly with Crestron RoomView help desk software, while built-in SNMP support enables integration with third-party network management software.
