InfoComm International announced that Crestron founder George Feldstein was awarded the Adele De Berri Pioneers of AV Award. The Adele De Berri Pioneers of AV Award highlights important contributions made by individuals to the science of AV and to the formation of the AV industry. Guided by Feldstein’s vision, Crestron has introduced many industry “firsts,” including the touchpanel and the IP-based control system.

“George Feldstein is the personification of what happens when you combine science and technical knowledge with imagination, generosity, and tenacity,” said Randal A. Lemke, executive director and CEO of InfoComm, in a statement. “At a time when AV tastes change quickly, George has created a technology that evolves and stands the test of time.”

For more than 40 years, Feldstein’s innovations and leadership helped to spawn and build a thriving industry. Under his direction, Crestron has pioneered cutting-edge innovations in the field of control and automation, including the VT Series, the first touchpanel to feature color, video, and computer graphics; SmarTouch, the world’s first RF wireless control system; CNMSX-PRO, the first IP-based control system; and more.

“InfoComm is pleased to recognize the technological and entrepreneurial achievements of George Feldstein,” said Lemke. “He is an industry giant who has led through a combination of big thinking and gracious giving. George has always encouraged his staff to volunteer with InfoComm on committees and projects that make the industry better.”

InfoComm International annually honors AV pioneers who have distinguished themselves within the AV industry. The award recognizes individuals, past or present, who have made extraordinary contributions to the formation of the AV industry.
