While fiber-optic signal transmission is nearly ubiquitous in the broadcast, telephony, and other industries, it’s taken a little more time for the pro AV world to adopt it. Several smaller companies have been doing an excellent job educating the market and offering fiber products, but crossing this chasm will be facilitated now that Extron has made this major commitment to this technology.
