AMX Adds DVI Fiber Transmission Solutions to Autopatch Fiber-optic Switcher Line

AMX has released its new AutoPatch Digital Generation (DG) DVI-to-fiber transmitter and DG DVI-to-fiber receiver. With these products, system integrators now have a way to transmit uncompressed digital video over distances up to 3,000ft. to multiple displays.
The transmitter and receiver can be used in conjunction with an EpicaDG fiber optic matrix switcher to deliver video to as many as 144 displays—ideal for any large or highly secure facility, such as command-and-control, homeland security, broadcast, or business. The products can also be used together to create a point-to-point solution for smaller installations—such as graphic design studios or small post-production facilities—needing to deliver high-resolution computer video to three or fewer displays.
“With these new solutions, AMX has met a real need that many organizations have to distribute digital video over long distances while preserving signal integrity,” says Robert Noble, AMX chief technology officer. “When significant investments are made in true DVI sources, such as HDTV tuners, DVD players, and personal computers, solutions should be available to deliver that same high-quality video throughout the facility.”
