At the recent CEDIA tradeshow, AMX provided a sneak peak at its next-generation Modero Touch Panel line as it unveiled its 5.2in. Modero ViewPoint Widescreen Touch Panel (MVP-5200i). The MVP-5200i combines a stylish, sexy design with high-resolution graphics, wireless mobility, digital intercom functionality and extended battery life.
“At first glance, you can’t help but notice the beauty of the MVP-5200i. But beyond its exterior aesthetics, it packs a whole lot of technology innovation into an ultra-thin, compact design,” says Robert Noble, AMX chief technology officer. “With the MVP-5200i, AMX has redefined the style, form, and function of our flagship Modero Touch Panel line, and in the process, we’ve raised the bar for all touch panels industry wide.”
The MVP-5200i provides fast, power-efficient processing—supporting up to eight hours of continuous use and four days of standby time—while its 5.2in. widescreen delivers the highest resolution of any AMX MVP Touch Panel—800×480 WVGA at 180dpi. It supports JPEG and PNG images, as well as streaming motion-JPEG video, and it can play MP3 and WAV audio files.
The ultra-compact MVP-5200i weighs 1.2lbs. and is only 0.8in. thick. It features an integrated kickstand; wireless mobility (802.11b/g); digital, full-duplex intercom for panel-to-panel communication throughout a home, business or campus; and a navigation wheel for levels and functions. It also incorporates the highest wireless network security standards, including WEP, WPA, WPA2, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS and PEAP.
The MVP-5200i, along with its optional Table Charging Station and Wall Charging Station, will be available in gloss white and gloss black. AMX expects the products to ship in January 2008.
