Options continue to grow for AV over IP expanding beyond the traditional AV hardware matrix model

Adder Technology’s AdderLink Infinity (ALIF) dual 2020 is an IP-based KVM (keyboard, video, and mouse) extender that forms part of the ALIF matrix solution. This enables you to locate your critical computing hardware in a secure and temperature controlled environment away from the user workstation, whilst maintaining a quality desktop experience. Using standard IP technology means the choice of a single structured cable (Cat-X) or fiber connection. The result is reliable links without interference. The Adder- Link Infinity dual 2020 also offers the option of up to 10km distances with fiber.

BlueRiver NT1000 is the latest product in AptoVision’s BlueRiver NT+ Series of AV-over-IP chipsets, which remain the world’s only chipsets to transport uncompressed, zero-latency Ultra HD/4K HDR over Ethernet. BlueRiver NT1000 delivers all the advanced IP-switching and extension capabilities AptoVision is known for, while reducing the bill of material costs for AV over IP encoders and decoders by up to 50%. Purpose built and cost optimized for AV/KVM switching and extension applications, the HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compliant BlueRiver NT1000 can transmit true 4K/60Hz (4:4:4) video with zero frame latency over 100m of CAT‐x or 30KM of fiber. It supports the complete range of signal types including audio, GbE, USB 2.0, RS‐232 and IR, all of which can be routed independently. Audio can be extracted from or injected into any HDMI stream within the network. AptoVision’s flagship chipset, the BlueRiver NT+, is now renamed BlueRiver NT2000 and continues to offer high-value AV processing capabilities which enable video-wall, multi-view and seamless switching applications. Together, the two members of the BlueRiver NT+ Series allow manufacturers to offer a top-to-bottom portfolio of AV-over-IP products which address the full range of feature, performance and pricing requirements for virtually all AV applications.

Integrated within the InfinityLink platform, Artel Video Systems’ ILC450 and ILC410 address the industry’s growing requirements as they migrate from direct fiber to IP networks. The ILC450 supports auto-sensing of standards-based, broadcast-quality HD/ SD-SDI and ASI video formats. SMPTE 2022-1/2/5/6 IP Encapsulation and optional Forward Error Correction (FEC) algorithms enable flexible configurations of the ILC450 that maximize reliable performance and minimize latency. Also, a 1 GigE IP interface allows end users to bridge IP data for greater bandwidth utilization of the 10G Ethernet interface. The ILC410 enables DVB-ASI and SD-SDI video to be reliably transported over IP networks.

The Atlona OmniStream 111 (ATOMNI- 111) is a networked AV encoder for one HDMI source up to 4K/UHD at 60 Hz with 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, plus embedded audio and RS-232 control. OmniStream is designed for d i s t r i b u t i ng AV over gigabit Ethernet in enterprises and other large-scale installations. The OmniStream 111 features SMPTE VC-2 visually lossless compression for critical-quality video applications, with extremely low, sub-frame latency from encode to decode. It also includes selectable AES-128 encryption, and SMPTE 2042 forward error correction for AV distribution spanning multiple networks. This encoder is housed in a half-rack width enclosure. The OmniStream 111 can conveniently be powered over the network through power over Ethernet (PoE), as well as from local AC power.

Aurora’s VLX-TC1 Series provides an advanced IP streaming solution utilizing Aurora’s IPBaseT technology, which synergizes various IP/AV standards to work together as one. Aurora claims the industry’s first 4K UHD transceiver with only 1.5 frame (25ms) latency and visually lossless compression. In the past, using a transmitter (encoder) and receiver (decoder), respectively, was the standard, but the VLX-TC1 Series components can be set up to either transmit or receive to make installation, inventory, and troubleshooting easier. There is also an option slot to add other IP capabilities, like Dante audio, for a more complete distributed system. Audio, video, data, and control can be sent securely to one or many units using off-the-shelf 1G RJ-45 Ethernet switch. When the VLX-TC1 is setup to be a transmitter, the two HDMI inputs become a source switch and the HDMI output becomes a potential loop out. When deploying the component as a receiver, a user can select the local HDMI inputs or an IP source.

The Black Box Agility IP-based KVM switcher and extender is a scalable system for sending DVI, USB, and audio over a LAN to user stations or video monitors. Agility transmitters and receivers extend signals over Cat-X cable up to 330 feet (100 m), and even farther with the addition of network switches. Configure the Agility for point-topoint extension, multicasting, single-target sharing, and KVM switching. Dual-head and dual-link models available. The Agility Controller offers a plug-and-play, single box, which enables remote, secure configuration of the transmitter and receiver units via a web browser.

Digigram’s IQOYA *VIP audio-over-IP software provides encoding, decoding, and streaming capacity for both Windows and Linux applications. Using IQOYA *VIP to access and leverage Digigram’s AoIP technology as a software service, ecosystem partners can more quickly create their own live-streaming, processing, and encoding systems. IQOYA *VIP runs as a software service in Windows or Linux environments on physical or virtual instances. Among the first AoIP software engines to combine full-duplex ACIP capability with real-time audio AES67 connectivity, the new Digigram product enables a variety of value-added use cases ranging from a simple AES67 AoIP virtual sound card to a complex multi-format transcoding farm for headend distribution.

The Gefen Sender and Receiver KVM units (the EXT-UHDV-KALANS- TX and EXT-UHDV-KA-LANS-RX) join the existing family of Gefen’s video over- IP products and add 4K and HDR support, built-in scaler, video-wall controller, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), and digital/analog audio break-out. The new Gefen models feature HDMI and VGA inputs and outputs, and can support DVI when using Gefen HDMI-to-DVI cables. They support HDMI input resolutions up to 4K 60Hz 4:2:0 and output resolutions up to 4K 30Hz 4:4:4, HDR support, HDCP 2.2 and 1.4, and 7.1 channels of HBR (High Bit Rate) lossless and LPCM digital audio up to 330 feet (100 meters). The Sender also features a VGA output for local monitoring of the input. The VGA input and output support VESA resolutions up to 1920×1200 at 60Hz (WUXGA). This product also provides RS-232 and 2-way IR routing between the Sender and the Receiver units, allowing the transfer of IR commands and RS-232 communications among all sources and the displays.

The Hall Research HHD264 family of HDMI over LAN Senders (encoders) and Receivers (decoders) utilizes the H.264 encoding with user definable bit-rates to distribute multiple full HD video signals on the local area network (LAN) with an eye towards clarity and performance. The devices also extend IR control and bi-directional RS-232 communication. An important feature of the system is its ability to switch Receivers on the fly to show the video of any Sender on the network using Hall Research’s DVM (Dynamic Virtual Matrix) technology. Switching is accomplished by using: dip switches on each device (for easy set-and-forget); built-in webpage (WebGUI) in each unit (accessible from any browser); telnet commands (ideal for third-party control of switching); and by using a PC running Hall Research’s free Manager Tool software.

HARMAN Professional Solutions’ new AMX N2300 Series of 4K video over IP solutions are an addition to AMX’s existing range of 4K products adds an extremely cost-effective 4K video distribution solution for many common applications. With a bandwidth of less than 200 megabits per second, users can distribute 4K video over existing gigabit Ethernet networks with a latency of only one frame. AMX ensures simple installation of the N2300 Series with support for HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2, making the line compatible with the latest 4K sources and displays.

The Matrox Mura IPX 4K capture and IP encoder and decoder PCI Express cards provide OEMs and system builders hardware and software to enhance their videowalls and operator work stations with advanced video processing and networking capabilities. Mura IPX boards are ideal for control rooms, digital signage, AV presentation and other applications requiring high-density capture, encoding, streaming, recording, decoding, displaying, and control. Mura IPX has been engineered to offer high-density H.264 encoding and decoding capabilities for use in virtually any application of encoding, decoding, or transcoding. Specifically, Mura IPX aims at the primary applications of high-density H.264 codec processes including: resolution encoding and decoding including the compression, decompression, streaming, and recording of a single 8K stream or multiple 4K, Full HD, or SD streams; quality encoding and decoding through the encoding support of desktop-grade, high-frequency content; and more.

MuxLab’s ProDigital Network Controller is a Linux-based PC that allows users to control hub-installed MuxLab products via an Ethernet interface. It will scan the LAN for connected MuxLab products, allowing the user to configure and control these products through a web interface. The controller also interfaces with third-party products for management (for example RTI’s recently released two-way driver which allows MuxLab’s ProDigital AV Over IP products to tie into RTI’s automation and control systems). The Controller is the centerpiece of Mux- Lab’s full range of AV Over IP extenders, among them products that support HDMI and HDMI H.264 over IP, Audio over IP, SDI over IP, video wall over IP and 4K video wall and 4K HDMI over IP.

The Rose Electronics UltraMatrix Remote 2 provides a comprehensive solution for remote server console access with BIOS-level access control. It provides secure access to a system locally, from any workstation on the network, or worldwide over IP using any supported web browser or RealVNC Viewer. A security system is included with login, computer access control, and data encryption. The RealVNC Viewer simplifies access to the remote computers and provides an additional layer of security to the system. When accessing a computer over a network, the viewer application receives and displays the video at a crisp maximum resolution of 1600×1200, and sends back keyboard and mouse data to give control over the remote computer. The unit supports PCs, Apple, and Sun computers running Windows, OSX, Solaris, UNIX, or Linux. It is independent of operating system. The advanced onscreen menu can be used to configure the unit, name the computers, and much more. Ultra- Matrix Remote 2 can easily be expanded to other KVM switches to operate and switch up to 1,000 computers.

RGB Spectrum’s Zio AV-over-IP technology supports video and audio distribution over an IP network, replacing traditional dedicated switchers. Zio endpoints attach to a 1Gig Ethernet switch, with encoders accepting computer and video sources at resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD and decoders for feeding displays. The Zio IP multiviewer offers seamless switching over the IP network infrastructure; both dedicated and shared networks are supported. The compact Zio D2000 Series multiviewers allow multiple streams to be decoded and viewed on a single display. The D2022 model IP multiviewer allows up to four 1080p streams, or equivalents, to be placed on a screen any size, anywhere. The D2024 model allows up to four 1080p streams or a single 4K stream. The Zio D3000 Series multiviewers build on the functionality of the D2000 Series, increasing the number of simultaneous streams displayed.

WyreStorm’s latest NetworkHD Ethernet based HD-over-IP AV matrix distribution platform includes the 100-Series. Comprised of the NHD-100-TX Encoder and NHD-100-RX Decoder, the NetworkHD 100-Series offers a highly scalable HD-over-IP AV distribution solution for matrix switching over an Ethernet infrastructure and features visually lossless AV distribution with plug-and-play setup and Bonjour auto-discovery of components for quick networking configuration. WyreStorm’s Quick Sync technology offers virtually instantaneous, seamless switching with full RS232 control of connected displays and CEC One- Touch Play, and major control system driver availability, including the WyreStorm Enado Control System.

ZeeVee’s ZyPerMX HD IP video encoder uses industry standard H.264 (MPEG4) encoding technology, and provides a bridge between the current high definition iSeries and the 4K/UHD ZyPer4k products.
