TCL was one of the many companies to announce upcoming OLED TVs at CES earlier this month, but it seems that is no longer the case. What was to be TCL’s first OLED TV (even utilizing Samsung’s QD-OLED panels, according to TCL’s press release) has turned out to be an erroneous announcement. In a statement to FlatPanelsHD, the company clarified its upcoming releases and noted the mistake.
“A line in the TCL CES 2023 press release confirming plans to launch the brand’s first QD-OLED television this year was incorrectly included. TCL is focused on its award-winning mini-LED technology in 2023 — including the recently announced TCL QM8 98-inch TV,” TCL told FlatPanelsHD.

TCL has gone on to reiterate their commitment to miniLED LCD displays for later in the year, with an emphasis on “super-large” screens and 4k resolution.
One can surmise that the company perhaps has plans for an OLED option in the future, but maybe not quite soon enough for a press release mention.
