Clear-Com FreeSpeak Cell

FreeSpeak Cell is designed to operate over public and private LTE and 5G networks, enabling full-duplex wireless intercom across wide geographic areas without relying on traditional radio frequency coordination. FreeSpeak Cell directly addresses increasing congestion in UHF, DECT and Wi-Fi bands, particularly in large venues and high-density live event environments.

Unlike traditional wireless intercom systems constrained by local spectrum and physical coverage boundaries, FreeSpeak Cell leverages cellular networks to support communications across much larger areas with fewer on‑site components.

The system supports deployments of 50 or more beltpacks and can scale to hundreds of users depending on network configuration. Because it operates over LTE and 5G, coverage can extend beyond a single building or compound, enabling communications across large properties or distributed production areas.

Unlike traditional DECT- or UHF-based systems that require local transceivers positioned throughout a venue, FreeSpeak Cell leverages existing cellular infrastructure. In venues with private LTE or 5G networks, the system can operate over that infrastructure. In other environments, it can utilize public carrier networks where coverage and policies permit. This approach can reduce the amount of on-site RF equipment required for large-scale deployments and simplify coordination in spectrum-constrained markets.

The system is designed to support voice communications alongside other workflows running on the same network, including data applications and video transport, subject to network configuration and bandwidth availability.

From the judges: “Clear-Com expands the reach of the popular FreeSpeak range to LTE and 5G. Especially for large-scale deployments, FreeSpeak Cell is a potentially winning combination to reduce RF load and widely expand coverage across private and public LTE and 5G networks.”

Bolin Technology KBD Plus Advanced PTZ Production Controller

LynTec DMX Dual Relay

The LynTec DMX Dual Relay (DDR) is a rugged, 20-amp power control solution engineered to bring intelligent, distributed circuit-level control to a range of broadcast, live,  and fixed installations.

The DDR features a single 20A input that supports two 20A PowerKon output connectors. This allows users to either pass the full 20A through a single output or split the load between two devices. This versatility is essential for applications where power requirements can change rapidly between high-draw lighting fixtures and sensitive signal processing gear.

Unlike standard indoor relays, the DDR features an IP65-rated enclosure, making it dust- and water-tight. It provides the same level of power protection and “emergency-off” reliability found in permanent installations but in a mobile, weatherized form factor.

The DDR also offers two modes of operation to suit different technical workflows. Out of the box, it features “DMX sensing” technology, which automatically powers the unit on when a signal is detected and initiates a five-minute shutdown delay when the signal is lost. For more complex rigs, users can activate onboard RDM (Remote Device Management) functionality. This allows engineers to assign independent DMX addresses to each of the two outputs, providing granular, remote power cycling of individual components from the console.

The DDR’s compact footprint is designed for hidden installation, allowing it to be mounted behind line arrays, tucked into road cases, or clamped directly onto trusses. This reduces cabling complexity and “voltage drop” issues by keeping the power control as close to the load as possible.

From the judges: “This is a welcome option for mobile power support at any scale and it also has a play for small fixed installs that may only need simple power control for a few fixtures. Dust-proof, water tight, compact for discreet installation, it supports two flexible DMX modes of operation from super-simple to bespoke.”

Bolin Technology Range – All Weather PTZ Camera

Range is a next-generation PTZ camera designed to replace the need for separate indoor and outdoor camera systems. It enables production teams to standardize on a single PTZ camera across stadiums, live events, studios, and temporary deployments.

With IP65-rated construction, integrated rain wiper, and wide operating temperature range, Range performs reliably in rain, heat, cold, and dust without external housings. At the same time, its compact size allows it to blend into indoor environments such as theaters, performing arts venues, and studios.

The Range’s PTZR architecture is built on a brushless direct-drive system. It delivers movement speeds up to 230° per second for fast-action tracking, ideal in sports and high-speed environments, while maintaining precise, smooth control for broadcast applications. A physical roll axis (up to 240°) enables vertical video capture, horizon correction, and creative framing that traditional PTZ cameras cannot achieve.

For image stability and automation, Range incorporates gyro-based 3-axis stabilization and AI-assisted tracking designed specifically for sports and live production environments.

Range supports 12G-SDI, HDMI, USB, and AV-over-IP workflows, including SRT and NDI, as well as built-in Wi-Fi and timecode. Range incorporates balanced XLR inputs with phantom power and a 3.5mm input, with audio embedded directly into video outputs. It supports native audio delay adjustment for precise time alignment at the source.

A built-in carry handle with integrated mounting points not only simplifies rigging, but also allows operators to attach third-party accessories such as microphones and wireless transmitters directly to the camera.

From the judges: “Weatherproof is a theme this year. Bolin has responded to the frequent AV need to standardize with an indoor/outdoor PTZ camera that checks all the usual performance boxes, and performs in any environment. Thoughtful rigging is part two of the all-purpose flexibility.”
