7thSense Wins 2024 Display Industry Award for Sphere

7thSense Wins 2024 Display Industry Award for Sphere -3

7thSense has been recognised with a Display Application of the Year Award at the Society for Information Display’s (SID) 2024 Display Industry Awards for its sophisticated management, control, and pixel processing system at Sphere, Las Vegas.

Each year, SID recognises the best displays, components, and applications introduced to the market with its Display Industry Awards (DIAs). As one of the industry’s most prestigious honours, DIAs highlight innovations that advance the state of the art in display technology.

The Display Application of the Year award is granted to a novel and outstanding product or application leveraging a display that resulted in a significant impact to the market.

“The field of winners for this year’s awards demonstrate how incredibly rich and diverse the display field has become,” said Stephen Atwood, acting chair of the DIA Committee. “7thSense provided the playback, pixel processing, and ST2110 video distribution network for the interior display of the Las Vegas Sphere, an incredible example of audio and visual immersion.”

Rich Brown, CTO and co-owner of 7thSense said, “Sphere has really raised the benchmark. The project needed incredible levels of innovation from everyone involved. We are so proud of what the 7thSense team and our partners have achieved, working to the incredible vision of Sphere Entertainment Co., with what’s become the world’s greatest live entertainment venue.”

“7thSense’s Performer Range of products are behind the media management, playback, and pixel-processing system for the internal and external LED displays at Sphere.”

“Fundamentally, the display is a collection of synchronised SMPTE ST 2110 based 4K streams, each with 7thSense Actor media servers for playback, Conjurers for generative content, and a low-latency Juggler pixel processor for signal switching, layering and windowing additional sources, such as camera feeds. It’s an honour to be recognised with such a respected industry accolade.”
