Atomos (Cine Gear Expo booth# S1006) announced immediate availability of Sumo PRO-19, a new 19-inch 4K HDR monitor-recorder-switcher designed as a central production hub for modern cinematic workflows across set, video village, and DIT environments.
Also debuting at Cine Gear, all Atomos next-generation monitor-recorders — including Ninja RAW, Ninja TX GO, Ninja TX, Shogun AV-19, and Sumo PRO-19 — now support Fujifilm’s FLog-2C color science. Atomos will be demonstrating Sumo PRO-19 working with Fujifilm’s new ETERNA 55 filmmaking cameras at booth #S116. Combined with Sumo PRO-19’s support for EL Zone™ exposure monitoring, the integration delivers a powerful new workflow for directors, cinematographers, and the wider cinematic production community.
Building on the success of Sumo 19SE, Sumo PRO-19 introduces a major upgrade long requested by customers: a stunning 19-inch 4K HDR display that delivers significantly greater image detail and precision for critical monitoring. Beyond its enhanced screen, the Sumo PRO-19 expands traditional on-set monitoring by unifying high-quality HDR display, professional recording, camera control, switching, and cloud connectivity in a single device, streamlining collaboration between directors, cinematographers, DITs, and production teams.
Integrated recording and flexible media workflows
Sumo PRO-19 supports recording in Apple ProRes, Apple ProRes RAW, Avid DNx, and H.265 from SDI or HDMI sources, with up to 10-bit 4:2:2 capture. It also supports high-resolution RAW workflows up to 8K.
Media can be recorded internally to CFexpress cards or externally via USB-C storage, giving production teams flexible options for high-data-rate capture and backup workflows.
Camera control and on-set operation
The system includes touchscreen-based camera control for supported devices, enabling adjustment of key parameters including start/stop, ISO, shutter, aperture, white balance, and touch-to-focus. This is designed to reduce friction in setups where direct camera access is limited, such as cranes, jibs, and remote or rigged installations.
Connected production workflows
Designed for networked production environments, Sumo PRO-19 includes integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet with support for camera-to-cloud workflows. Teams can upload footage directly to ATOMOSphere, Frame.io, Dropbox, and other supported services for near real-time review and collaboration across distributed production teams.
Atomos’ AirGlu™ timecode technology over RF or Bluetooth ensures accurate synchronization between cameras and production devices on set.
The device also supports NDI® HX3 transmission for both send and receive over standard Ethernet or Wi-Fi, enabling video, audio, and metadata transport for flexible video village and remote production setups without dedicated infrastructure.
Monitoring and creative tools
Built-in monitoring tools include EL Zone™ false color, focus peaking, waveform, Log-to-LUT viewing, frame guides, safe areas, anamorphic de-squeeze, HDR-to-Rec.709 conversion, and quad-view monitoring. Frequently used tools can be assigned to user-definable front-panel function buttons for faster access during production.
Audio integration
Sumo PRO-19 includes dual full-size XLR inputs with 48V phantom power, along with dedicated metering, gain control, and frame-accurate audio delay to support precise synchronization between audio and video sources.
Executive commentary
“Modern productions demand more than monitoring—they require a connected hub that brings image accuracy, recording, camera control, and collaboration together in one system,” said Peter Barber, CEO of Atomos. “Sumo PRO-19 is designed for those realities, giving production teams a reliable 4K HDR reference and a unified platform for decision-making across set and video village.”
Designed for modern production environments
With its redesigned chassis and integrated workflow tools, Sumo PRO-19 is intended as a central node for DIT carts, video village setups, and collaborative production environments, helping teams maintain consistency and efficiency from capture through review.
