Atomos Highlights Validation of Hardware and Cloud Strategy

Last month’s Adobe MAX 2022 proved to be one of the stand-out events of the year for creatives, with over 7,500 people attending and, astonishingly, more than a quarter of a million online viewers.

ATOMOS participated as a sponsor and exhibitor at the annual event in Los Angeles, showing the new CONNECT range of products and the seamless integration with Adobe Camera to Cloud (C2C) powered by Frame.io. C2C was a hot topic for the event sessions and keynote speeches, reflecting the fact that many high-profile US broadcasters and creative teams are adopting collaborative cloud-based workflows.

ATOMOS is strategically well-placed to address this market with a unique combination of hardware and cloud services that meet this burgeoning demand. One of the key factors in the ATOMOS approach is that our devices open the C2C workflow to a far wider range of digital cinema, DSLR, and mirrorless cameras than was previously possible. To support this position, Adobe has reported that since the launch of the CONNECT range and ATOMOS Cloud Studio in the middle of this year, there has been a 50% increase month-on-month in asset uploads attributed to ATOMOS devices.

Michael Cioni, Sr. Director, Global Innovation at Adobe commented, “The future of every creative workflow will be based on cloud collaboration.  ATOMOS has just unlocked a best-in-class solution for the professional creative community and cloud activation exceeding our initial projections.  The partnership between Frame.io, Adobe, and ATOMOS is vital to making it easy for content creators to connect with their collaborators, and the number of cameras ATOMOS connects with today is second to none.”

Paul Scurrell, SVP Product commented, “The response to the complete ATOMOS solution at the prestigious Adobe MAX event was universally positive. The direct feedback we have received from all industry partners, delegates, and the press is that the demand for these emerging cloud workflows is building rapidly, and we’re at the start of a huge growth curve of adoption. ATOMOS is uniquely placed to help activate these workflows for our customers.”

NBA team – Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers have recently trialed the Atomos Connect range. After intensive testing, the internal Media Production department of the Los Angeles Clippers have decided to utilize the Shogun Connect over a direct competitor’s competing range.

Tommy Zweibel, Director, Content & Production at Los Angeles Clippers commented “Having real-time access to content from our videographer’s footage using ATOMOS CONNECT products whilst traveling with the team has vastly enhanced the quality and quantity of content we produce. This new cloud workflow avoids tedious and time-consuming processes of the past. This is the future of production for us that we will now rely on.”

Ralph Lauren’s Spring Summer 2023 Fashion Show

During Ralph Lauren’s first-ever show on the West Coast of the USA, Atomos’ Shogun Connect range was successfully deployed.

Dane Brehm, Production Technologist at Cintegral.Tech commented, “As a Production Technologist, any new piece of technology integrated into a pre-existing workflow is to say the least nerve-wracking with 109 client video deliverables.  This was our first experience with the Shogun Connects, they were intuitive, compact, and reliable for our Live Ralph Lauren Camera-2-cloud workflow. They were mission-critical to getting our LA and NY Editors’ media as-fast-as-possible into Frame.io and Adobe Premiere Pro. We’re looking forward to incorporating them in all our future live events.”
