Wilsonville, OR (June 03, 2025) — AUDIX, the American manufacturer of premium microphones for music production, sound reinforcement, and conferencing, today announces version 2.1 of its integration for the Q-SYS Full Stack AV Platform. The plugin facilitates use of AUDIX DN4 and DN43 Dante/AES67 audio interfaces as onramps for bringing audio into Q-SYS. AUDIX worked closely with Q-SYS and development partner The Farm, a Midwich Group Company. In turn, Q-SYS has fully vetted and endorsed the D4/DN43 plugin with a Q-SYS Certified badge.
When leveraged within Q-SYS Designer Software, the DN4/D43 plugin allows the interfaces of the same name to feed audio into Q-SYS. The DN4 onramp hardware comprises four high-quality microphone preamps and analog-to-digital converters and are compatible with AUDIX conferencing mics via a standard RJ45 connector. Single-element mics for use with the DN4 include the M45 aimable ceiling-mounted shotgun, M55 pendant, and M70 steerable flush-mount mics. The DN43 is specifically for use with AUDIX’s M3 tri-element pendant microphone. Both DN-series interfaces are compact, lightweight, and plenum-mountable for in-ceiling deployment, which can simplify cable runs in multi-room installations.
An improvement in version 2.1 is a more robust discovery protocol, allowing Q-SYS to identify and handshake with connected devices; display their inputs, outputs, and control connections in Q-SYS Designer Software’s graphical user interface; and conduct seamless routing of incoming audio to connected devices.
Version 2.1 now supports Q-SYS Reflect, an environment that provides cloud-based remote AV management, monitoring, security, and performance analytics, even integrating with users’ existing IT infrastructure via a free API.
With the DN-series interface(s) fully accessible and programmable within the Q-SYS environment, systems integrators and facility AV managers can set up comprehensive speech support solutions integrating multiple microphones, touch-panel controllers, and multi-channel output to loudspeakers and display monitors in local and remote locations alike. An especially useful feature is that when using the plugin, a DN interface can send power and control signals via the network cable to hardware-resident LED lights on certain AUDIX microphones. The LEDs can then indicate almost anything the user wishes to configure and monitor: mute versus hot status, changing color to indicate a peak level has been reached, and more.
Furthermore, a technician can curate a complete experience for the system’s everyday users, ensuring simplicity of operating only the controls necessary to ensure a high-quality audio-visual result. In other words, once deployed, the technology gets out of the way.
“We are proud of our collaboration with AUDIX to create a plugin integration that will enable elevated audio-visual experiences across our shared customers,” says Geno Zaharie, Senior Director, Alliances & Ecosystem, Q-SYS.
“The latest Q-SYS plugin update provides enhanced functionality and seamless integration of AUDIX microphones,” says Steve Young, Sales Director, U.S. Audio for AUDIX, “whether they are in-ceiling, tabletop, gooseneck, or wireless, into any conference or classroom application that is part of the Q-SYS Ecosystem.”
