AVI-SPL kicks off 2012’s webinar series with Biamp Systems on Tuesday, January 31 at 1 p.m. EST. Biamp’s Read Wineland will lead this free, hour-long webinar on “Successful Communications: What You Need to Know about Audio Conferencing” to explore the essentials needed for high quality audio conferencing systems.
“The human voice is the key to interpersonal communication. Even in the finest video conferencing system, if the audio is not of high quality, then communication will be difficult,” said Wineland, who serves as regional director Eastern North America for Biamp.
In this webinar, attendees will learn what to look for in a professional audio conferencing system. The microphones, DSP core electronics, loudspeakers, installation, and even the acoustics of the room are all part of a quality conferencing system. If any one of those parts is inadequate, then the results will be less than satisfactory. The webinar will also explore the latest technologies for acoustic echo cancellation and network distribution of audio and video. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during the webinar’s live Q&A session.

Wineland has been with the Biamp since 1995. Previously, he was an independent representative for the company, as well as several other Ohio-based professional audio product lines.
Wineland started his audio career in 1973 with White House Communications while in the US Air Force, serving Presidents Nixon and Ford. Following his military career he worked for Hollywood Sound Systems in Los Angeles working on projects such as House PA for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, PGA Golf remotes for NBC, and installing the original wireless microphone systems for the NFL which the referees continue to use today.
