The US headquarters of Greek yogurt company FAGE was established by the third generation of the Filippou family, who founded the iconic brand almost 100 years ago. Due to damage caused by a burst pipe over a long weekend, the main conference room of the company’s executive headquarters in Wellesley, MA, needed to be renovated from the ground up. FAGE took this opportunity to create a reimagined space, with a 25-foot-long marble table serving as its centerpiece. But these aesthetic changes came with a major requirement: any updated conferencing technology, including microphones and controllers, could not be placed on the table’s surface.
George Ziegler of DNET Cabling & AV Technologies, a division of D & D Electrical Contractors, was tasked with finding a solution for FAGE’s conferencing tech requirements. “The property owner knew an integrator who did the original AV setup, with mics all over the table,” he said. “FAGE’s owner didn’t like that and wanted something that would wow their clientele.” Ziegler consulted with Annie Wiker of Symco, who recommended Biamp’s TesiraFORTÉ X 400, a meeting room DSP featuring multiple network and analog audio connection points, with four channels of Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) assignable across any digital or analog output.
A key factor for Wiker’s recommendation of TesiraFORTÉ X was the inclusion of Biamp Launch, the one-touch automatic device discovery and tuning feature. Initially unsure of Launch, Ziegler was quickly convinced of its effectiveness.
“The end result was flawless,” he said. “One push of a button, and it’s synchronizing. There’s no feedback at all.” Ziegler installed the TesiraFORTÉ X 400 bundle, including two Parlé TCM-X low-profile microphones which were placed in the ceiling to eliminate the need for technology to be visible. “You don’t see anything on the table except for the control unit.”
Thanks to the implementation of the TesiraFORTÉ́ X bundle, FAGE achieved the invisible tech aesthetic they requested, while also gaining the incredible ease of use and powerful results these Biamp devices deliver.
“The comments that I was receiving from the employees and CEO were so gratifying,” Ziegler said. “I’m extremely impressed by how well the TesiraFORTÉ X 400 bundle works. The AEC is just award-winning and made my job so much easier.” Based on the results that he achieved with TesiraFORTÉ X, “there is no way that I will change from this type of installation going forward.”
