Anaheim, CA – September 24, 2025 – Women in AV/IT (WAVIT) has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of two respected industry leaders, Cheryl Walton and Rachael Hinds. Both bring extensive experience and a shared passion for advancing opportunities, visibility, and representation for women in the AV/IT community.

Rachael, with her strong background in marketing leadership and passion for amplifying women’s voices, brings a fresh perspective that will strengthen our mission. Their energy, expertise, and commitment will be invaluable as we continue to enrich, educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of women.”

Cheryl Walton is the Director of Business Development at Edge, bringing over 25 years of experience in the audio-video industry. She is known for driving strategic growth and building lasting partnerships across the AV landscape.
“Working with WAVIT has been a wonderful experience, an opportunity to collaborate with some of the most talented and dedicated people in our industry,” said Walton. “As the co-chair for the membership committee and a mentor in their mentorship program, I am learning so much and building so many new relationships. Now as a board member, I am excited for the next chapter. My biggest focus is to work together with the members to make WAVIT even better than ever, continuing to break down barriers, encouraging more women to enter AV/IT, and encouraging more growth and visibility in our industry.”

With more than a decade of experience in the AV/IT industry, Rachael Hinds has built a career at the intersection of marketing, technology, and community. As a senior marketing leader at Peerless-AV, she is passionate about creating opportunities for representation, visibility, and mentorship for women across the industry.
“Having started my AV/IT career straight out of college, I know how vital it is to have a strong community of women to look to for support, inspiration, and guidance,” said Hinds. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without that. I’m incredibly honored to join the WAVIT Board and give back to the industry that’s shaped so much of my journey. As a senior marketing leader, I’m passionate about helping more women feel seen, supported, and empowered – and I’m excited to help WAVIT continue building that community.”
