When you’re busy helping thousands of companies solve their complex IT problems, you need an effective in-house communications and collaboration solution to present your very precise and innovative IT solutions.
When global IT solutions provider BMC Software was ready to move into their new regional headquarters in Pune, India they needed such a solution and turned to ClearOne (NASDAQ: CLRO), a global provider of audio and visual communication solutions to provide one.
AV integrator Genesis IT Innovations have had a long and very successful history with ClearOne solutions, so when Ashwin Deshmukh, Business Manager at Genesis saw the technical requirements needed for this project, he knew exactly what to do. A CONVERGE® Pro 840T Signal Processor and two Beamforming Microphone Arrays would provide BMC with the perfect answer to those needs.
“This was a new build project that presented several acoustic challenges to be overcome,” said Deshmukh. “The boardroom needed a high-quality video and audio conferencing system, however the architect used highly reflective surfaces. Gypsum walls and ceiling and a hard wooden table were major challenges.”
Deshmukh installed ClearOne ceiling-mounted Beamforming Microphones Arrays that combines patented audio beamforming with adaptive steering technology (think of it as a smart beam selection) and next-gen acoustic echo cancellation technology. Twenty-four microphone elements move the pickup to the participants and reject unwanted noise and echo, offering superb and unmatched performance, particularly for the group conferencing environment.
Deshmukh connected the microphones to the CONVERGE Pro 840T signal processor, ClearOne’s professional audio DSP platform for conferencing applications. The two solutions work perfectly in tandem as the CONVERGE Pro 840T controls the two Beamforming Microphone Arrays as one system, without any complicated set-up.
“One of the main reasons I chose the ClearOne CONVERGE Pro was for its ability to eliminate noise and acoustic echo caused by the audio reflection off the hard walls,” he said. “Acoustic echo cancellation is applied to each beam to ensure the best audio for remote participants. And the Beamforming Microphone Array has a sleek and stylish design with excellent coverage.”
BMC also specified they wanted a technology and cable-free environment in their new boardroom to ensure the aesthetics of the architectural design were not diminished by the video conferencing equipment. Using ClearOne, Deshmukh delivered on that request with a solution that provides crisp, clear audio quality as well as a visually pleasing design.
With a customer base that includes 92 companies on the Forbes Global 100 list, there is clearly no room for communication issues at BMC, and with the ClearOne CONVERGE Pro and Beamforming Microphone Arrays, there simply won’t be any.
“We have had a very good relationship with ClearOne for a very long time and the support that we receive from their sales team is second-to-none,” Deshmukh added. “If we ever have a question about a product or need any assistance on an installation, their engineers are always on hand to help.”
