Contemporary Research is excited to announce the addition of three new IPTV products: QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controller, QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder, and Venue Vizion IPTV. Plan to visit Contemporary Research in Central Hall at Booth 3492 June 6th-8th at the Las Vegas Convention Center to see a live demonstration.

Contemporary Research’s new QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controller is the latest product for decoding IPTV streams and includes an integrated display controller. The QIP-D accepts MPEG2 or H.264 single program or multiple program transport streams and is compatible with unicast or multicast UDP and RTP IPTV streams. It also decodes and receives MP12, AAC, and AC-3 audio. The QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controller features HDMI output and video scaling from 480i to 4K. Users can select channels, volume, and power from the front panel controls, handheld IR remote, or external control system. The integrated display controller can control power and source selection on the connected display device when used in conjunction with an ICE-HE-DXL Display Control Center, Display Express, or a third-party control system. The QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controller has an onboard control database of RS-232 protocols for common displays. The display type can be selected in the setup menu. As a result, custom programming is not required for display control when used with Display Express or an ICE-HE-DXL. A channel list of programs can be uploaded from a PC running CR Toolbox software, a free universal application designed to connect and update CR products.

The QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder features dual-channel encoders that create MPEG2 or H.264 IPTV streams from two separate video sources. It offers low latency, accepts video resolutions from 480i and 1080p, and supports closed captioning. The output can be changed to resolutions between 480i and 1080p using the built-in scalers. The QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder also accepts audio from SPDIF or analog stereo and can encode AC3, MPEG 1 Layer 2, or AAC.

Venue Vizion IPTV was modeled after CR’s easy to use RF coax video distribution solution with display control, Venue Vizion. The AV over IP video solution includes the QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controllers, ICE-HE-DXL Display Control Center and QIP IPTV Encoders. Rack-ready, preset, and operational out-of-the-box, Venue Vizion IPTV is cost effective, easy to install, simple to maintain, and can be utilized in various applications. Venue Vizion IPTV distributes 8 IP streams and 20 displays but can be scaled to accommodate larger projects.

All products will be shipping in June and the manufacturer suggested retail prices are: QIP-D IPTV Decoder/Controller $599, QIP-YPB 2 IPTV Encoder $2,150 and Venue Vizion IPTV $19,995. In addition to the IPTV products, Contemporary Research will be discussing new features being added to the popular 232-ATSC Tuner Series.
