From Sept. 14-15, the Student Services Department of the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences Travelled to Nashville, Tenn. and Met with Representatives of Leading Pro Audio Recording Studios on Behalf of its Students for Future Internships and Employment
Gilbert, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2021 – Making industry connections for its students is par for the course for CRAS.
The Student Services Department of the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS; www.cras.edu) recently traveled to Nashville, Tenn. on behalf of its current and future students where it once again sponsored the 23rd Annual Audio Masters Benefit Golf Tournament.
“This event never gets old as it is not only fun, but productive as well as helpful to the community and we are always proud to participate,” explained Kirt Hamm, CRAS administrator. “Besides working the event, our staff connects with and develops ongoing and new relationships in order to help place our students in their mandatory internships prior to graduation, and then open potential graduate job placement opportunities.”
CRAS Internship Director Becky Fimbres and two CRAS Internship Coordinators, Conor Lynch and Nathalie Holub, attended the event on Sept 14-15 at the Harpeth Hills golf course in Nashville. Proceeds from the event go to NERF, The Nashville Engineer Relief Fund which provides emergency relief funds for medical and living expenses for Nashville engineers in the community.
“Visiting Nashville is a great experience and we truly enjoy the camaraderie and connections from the players to the sponsors that we meet each year participating in the Audio Master’s Golf Tournament,” said Fimbres. “The Student Services department always strives to understand the environments that our interns will experience during their internships. These visits allow us the opportunity to be able to chat with facilities one-on-one to learn more about the expectations of an intern and to better prepare our students for success in the audio industry. To be able to see graduates working at some of the most amazing facilities in Nashville and to hear about their success during these visits is a very humbling and gratifying experience.”
During the visit, CRAS staff visited and met with personnel from Top Tracks Studios, Omni Studios, Robot Lemon, The Studio Nashville, Tommy Dorsey Mastering, Parlor Productions, Sputnik Sound, The Record Shop, 4115 Studios, Rukkus Room, The Toybox Studios, Digital Audio Post, TNDV, and Phoenix Studios.
“It’s always incredible to come back and visit Nashville as it reminds us what an impact we’ve had within the city’s audio community,” said Rachel Ludeman, CRAS Employment Coordinator. “We were able to meet with some of our graduates who are already interning and working in many of Nashville’s top studios, as well as make new contacts in others. With CRAS having such a long history of sending its students to some of the most prolific studios and companies out there, the school has solidified a truly respectable name for itself. Everyone seems to know someone who’s a CRAS graduate, praises the school for its well rounded education, and we end up running into grads left and right working in the industry.”
