Densitron to showcase multiple new hardware & software products at IBC 2022

CRAWLEY, UK, 15 August 2022: Densitron, the global leader in innovative Human Machine Interaction (HMI) and display technology, will highlight its continuing broadcast industry success and present its latest hardware and software display & control innovations at IBC 2022, which takes place at the Amsterdam RAI from September 9-12 (Stand 8.C90). Among other products, IBC Show visitors will be able to learn about Densitron’s groundbreaking Tactile Technologies – including the new Haptic 10.1 modular solution – and the latest software update for its acclaimed Intelligent Display System (IDS), as well as its innovative ODM+ design & manufacturing service.

Underlining its commitment to meeting the full range of control & display requirements in broadcast and beyond, the company will showcase its complete line of Tactile Technologies that are designed to enhance the functionality of its touchscreens. These technologies include the well-established Tactila Suite – which provides integrated on-screen buttons, knobs and faders – as well as integrated off-screen controls enabled by Densitron’s DensiSDK and JogDial technologies, and a newer line of haptics solutions which create feedback sensations that can be profiled and localised.

New for IBC 2022 is a modular haptics product, Haptics 10.1, that can be used in conjunction with medium-sized touchscreens. Bazile Peter, global product manager HMI solutions at Densitron, comments: “There has been a marked increase in demand for haptics-based solutions as the immediate feedback they provide, and the extent to which they can make user interactions more efficient, have proven to be very useful in a variety of industry applications – hence this new addition to the range.”

Densitron will also be highlighting the 1- and 3-row versions of the UReady 2RU universal control surface. Incorporating 18 and 54 buttons respectively, the new variations benefit from full Ethernet connectivity, as well as Densitron’s X86 CPU architecture and an Intel Premium Processor N Series (N2400) with 1.1 GHz and 4GB RAM.

Perhaps most excitingly of all, the IBC Show will also pay host to the first trade event presentation of IDS Cloud – the latest-generation software for the Intelligent Display System (IDS). Marking a major evolution of the IDS platform, IDS Cloud is able to run on-premise or on a private or public cloud, allowing the same studio environment to be controlled and managed instantly and seamlessly – to or from anywhere, at any time.

Densitron will also introduce show visitors to its innovative ODM+™ (Original Design Manufacturing) service, which is geared towards enabling third-party companies to outsource the manufacturing and some design work of their products to Densitron. This means they can free up valuable capacity to focus more on software engineering, market development and other activities.

Simon Jones, CEO of Densitron, comments: “The ODM+ model combines the best of our engineering expertise in all areas from computing to displays, touch and tactiles to build complete broadcast products for manufacturers. The reason for the + is that we bring our own intellectual property and patents to the design discussion – meaning that we can develop designs for our customers which no one else can.”

Finally, IDS will also be included as a vital element of workflow integrations on a number of partner company stands, including BirdDog (6.A19), Evertz (1.F76), Global Distribution (7.D20), Grass Valley (9.A01), SKAARHOJ (6.C26) and TAG V.S. (1.C30).

“The past couple of years has brought unprecedented challenges for our industry,” says Jones, “but it has also witnessed an explosion in technological creativity and an acceleration of existing trends such as more remote and hybrid working, as well as a demand for control & display systems that are more versatile and capable of being individualised. Densitron has responded to all of these developments with its latest solutions and software upgrades, and we can’t wait to present them to existing and new customers at IBC 2022!”
