Doug Mekanik has moved from technical support to sales at A.C.T Lighting, Inc., a leading importer and distributor of lighting products.
“For the past four years as Technical Support Specialist Doug has traveled cross-country conducting hundreds of MA training sessions and supporting our customer base, especially with their questions regarding the MA platform,” says Brian Dowd, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at A.C.T Lighting. “At the same time Doug assisted the sales team with demos and support across our entire product line, so he’s extremely well versed in all of our products and very prepared to transition to our sales force.”
Mekanik has an extensive entertainment background from designing and programming lighting in concert, dance and theatrical environments to providing technical support and training to the industry’s most respected lighting designers and programmers.
Prior to joining A.C.T Lighting he worked as a Lighting Supervisor for a professional roadhouse and served as a freelance programmer with several lighting rental companies and designers nationwide. Mekanik was a draftsman for Lighting Designer Tom Kenny on the MTV Video Music Awards, programmer for Paul Dexter on an REO SpeedWagon tour, and Lighting Designer for a benefit concert by “American Idol’s” Ruben Studdard.
