Mod Awards Select PixelFLEX LED Video Curtain Wall for Ceremony Honoring Best in Exhibit Designs

For an award show honoring the best in modular exhibit design, when it came time to select an LED screen to integrate into the stage design for the ceremonies, event coordinators knew exactly where to turn for a winning solution –

. Held at the Four Seasons Hotel at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the

Mod Awards

featured a 16′ x 16′ state-of-the-art LED video curtain wall from PixelFLEX, makers of the industry’s leading ultra-flexible, lightweight and durable LED screens.

Attendees to the ceremony were first greeted by two 8′ tall cylinders created by turning four PixelFLEX panels on their side to create a one-of-a-kind eye-catching design. Once the show began, PixelFLEX’s LED curtain, featuring a series of motion graphics introducing each of the ceremony’s speakers and showcasing each award category, was integrated behind a series of fabric structures on stage. The PixelFLEX solution’s work wasn’t done at the conclusion of the award ceremony, as the video curtain wall was used to feature a variety of images, including video, sponsor logos and animation graphics during the after party.

Event organizers, thrilled with the system’s performance, are currently planning how they can incorporate the innovative technology into their booth designs moving forward.

“The unique nature and exceptional performance make PixelFLEX’s LED video curtain wall a very attractive option for exhibitors,” said George Contorinis, marketing director at Abex, booth manufacturer and host of the 2013 Mod Awards. “We were eager to see the system’s capabilities in action at the Mod Awards and we were not disappointed. This technology opens up a lot of possibilities for how exhibitors can attract attention during trade shows and events.”

Videos and images can be sent to PixelFLEX’s screens using any computer with a DVI-D connection. Each typical screen panel is approximately 8×4, but modifications can be made easily to meet specific needs of the consumer – panels can be attached together with PixelFLEX’s proprietary quicklock system.

Flexible in all directions, PixelFLEX LED Curtains are able to bend and shape around structures for a more creative display effect and can be stored in a single road case to simplify shipping. This flexibility, in combination with the product’s extraordinary light weight – PixelFLEX LED Curtains range

from 4.5 lbs to 19.9 lbs per square meter, which is 60 to 90 percent less than most other LED video screens – provides substantial savings on transportation costs and space.

“We’ve been involved with the annual Mod Awards for the past 11 years and this was definitely the most technologically advanced show attendees have ever seen,” Contorinis stated. “The primary reason for that was the PixelFLEX curtain as it inspired us creatively in how we integrated video and graphics into the ceremony.”
