Panamax/Furman Products on Display at CEDIA EXPO 2012:

MR Family of Power Management Products

Panamax’s MR family of elegant home theater power management solutions complements any A/V system, while offering advanced protection from surges/spikes and maximizing equipment performance. With auto-resetting voltage protection (AVM) and protection from catastrophic lightning strikes with Protect or Disconnect(TM) circuitry, peace of mind is never out of reach. These components also account for signal-level surges with universal coaxial, telephone, or LAN (RJ-45) protection. Performance-robbing AC noise is filtered for best system performance with Level 2 Noise Filtration (MR4000) and Linear Noise Filtration (MR4300 and MR5100).

Equally graceful on a shelf, TV stand, or rack, the MR family offers a touch of class and elegance with a soft yet sophisticated industrial design. Decorative blue crescent lights accent the white digital voltmeter (MR4300 and MR5100) and power status display anchoring the front panel. On the MR4300, two downward-firing media lights illuminate any equipment cabinet or rack, providing users with well-lit access to their media player or system controllers in a theater, media, or living room. All decorative and media lights can be dimmed or turned off completely to eliminate distractions from the home theater experience.

The MR4000 is available now. The MR4300 and MR5100 will begin shipping in October.

MD2-ZB Smart Plug and BB-ZB1 Gateway

The MD2-ZB smart plug provides energy monitoring, load control, scheduled conservation, and surge protection in a compact form factor that plugs directly into any standard 120V, 15A outlet. Utilizing ZigBee(R) wireless communications, the MD2-ZB can be monitored, controlled, programmed, and remotely accessed via Panamax/Furman’s cloud-based BlueBOLT(R) energy management and control platform (with BB-ZB1 gateway). For integrators, BlueBOLT reduces service calls through remote control of the MD2-ZB’s two discrete AC outlets from any Internet-enabled device. Additionally, the platform provides real-time and historical power related data, including energy consumption in kWh and dollars. This data allows integrators to schedule conservation periods to eliminate wasted power and decrease utility bills.

Offering a thin profile of 1.5 inches, the MD2-ZB houses two side-mounted outlets and provides status, network, and wiring fault indicators, in addition to push-button “override” power switches to instantly power outlets on/off from the top of the device. The unit’s Protect-or-Disconnect(TM) circuitry completely disconnects AC power to connected equipment in the event of a catastrophic surge. To accommodate the look of any room, the MD2-ZB’s front cover can easily be removed and painted to match the wall color.

The MD2-ZB and BB-ZB1 will be available later in 2012.

Company Quote: “At CEDIA EXPO 2012, we will be making a number of exciting product introductions for the home theater and beyond. Providing an incredible value for entry to mid-level home theater systems, the advanced protection and filtration technologies behind our MR series of power management products demonstrate that a low cost doesn’t have to come at the expense of style or performance. In addition, we will be introducing the first BlueBOLT-enabled product in our MD family of direct plug-in devices: the MD2-ZB. When used with the BB-ZB1 gateway, the smart plug brings the power of our BlueBOLT platform down to a very affordable level while providing consumers with a true indicator of their power consumption throughout the entire home.”
