PixelFLEX LED Video Curtains Deliver Impressive Visuals for Boots and Hearts Festival

Canada’s three-day country music festival,

Boots and Hearts

, is the largest of its kind to ever be hosted on Canadian soil and, with 25,000 spectators in attendance daily, it has become one of the largest in North America as well. The experience boasts top artists, such as Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Kid Rock, and The Band Perry, along with a plethora of entertainment options throughout the weekend, including motocross shows, late night dance parties and impressive stage visuals. During this year’s festival,

PixelFLEX

facilitated the delivery of those impressive visuals on the Sirius XM-sponsored side stage through its high-quality, lightweight and flexible LED video curtain screens.

PixelFLEX provided 12 20mm panels for Boots and Hearts to deliver clear video content and effects to enrich the musical performances while also highlighting the festival’s sponsors. The panels are extremely lightweight and flexible, allowing them to bend or shape around structures without losing clarity. The panels also offer a solution for more delicate venues that cannot sustain a heavy screen, like the 30m by 55m tent covering the second stage at the festival.

“That particular staging had weight restrictions and I needed to find an LED video wall that was lightweight but could also achieve the visual goals that the client was after,” said Mitch Mazerolle of Metalworks, who served as production manager of ancillary stages for Boots and Hearts. “It turned out to be a great solution for this challenging situation.”

The panels were configured as a back wall behind the Sirius XM-sponsored stage and rotated different images across the screens throughout the day. During special events or performances, Adam Grosze, director of partnerships for the festival, mentioned that it was simple to change the video content from static images to a functioning video wall for the late night dance parties.

“The simplicity and ease of transition from one advertisement or sponsored segment to another was important to us,” said Grosze. “The PixelFlex screens were a great option and the ease of use and ability to integrate the panels across several different platforms was the biggest benefit of using PixelFLEX.”

Pleased with the ease of set-up and take-down, price and overall experience with PixelFLEX’s LED video

curtains, the Boots and Hearts team is looking at additional ways to use the panels at next summer’s festival.

Videos and images can be sent to the screen using any computer with a DVI-D connection – PixelFLEX LED Curtains are available from low resolution to high resolution, allowing users to demonstrate simple effects or elaborate videos. The high caliber visual components of the curtains come with equally impressive customer service assistance and without the need for an extensive budget.
