RBDG SHOWROOM DESIGN WINS CEDIA ELECTRONIC LIFESTYLES® AWARD

ADDISON, TX, OCTOBER

— Russ Berger Design Group’s (RBDG)

home theater showroom design

for Audiovisions, the nationally renowned electronics systems integrator based in Lake Forest, CA,

has won the CEDIA Electronic LifestylesA® Award for “Best Showroom”? for 2009.

Each year, CEDIA recognizes the best of the best in the residential electronic systems industry through its Electronic Lifestyles Award. Audiovisions is known for specializing in creating cutting-edge systems that incorporate audio, video, lighting and HVAC. It was important to RBDG to be able to design a space that would highlight Audiovisions’ vast technological offerings for the home theater market, yet allow for easy and quick updates to the equipment showcased.

“Designing a showroom is like designing a great home theater — it must feel comfortable and home-like while still providing performance excellence,”? explains Chuck Chiles, LEED AP, project manager at RBDG for the Audiovisions project. “However, a showroom has to meet an additional challenge; the customer must be given an understanding of how the great technical result was accomplished. The Audiovisions facility does that masterfully with hidden components that can easily be revealed to the visitor.”

RBDG’s extensive theater design experience began with developing THX criteria and solutions for United Artists, followed by the design of hundreds of THX theaters across the country for UA as well as General Cinema, AMC and Cinemark. This expertise has developed into inspired architectural and acoustical designs for corporate training and demonstration theaters, custom listening environments and award-winning private home theaters.
