Cabletime, developer of the powerful MediaStar range of IPTV, streaming and digital signage solutions is unveiling its new live TV and TV-on-demand solution, RoomStar, at HITEC (June 18-21 Houston, Texas). The launch of RoomStar follows Cabletime’s acquisition of US-based roomioTV last year.
The company has since combined roomioTV’s solid end-user focused software and bespoke property management interface with its own powerful content distribution functionality to deliver a comprehensive system that will scale to meet the demands of the growing global hotel interactive TV market.
A highlight of RoomStar is the interactive channel guide which hotel guests can easily navigate to find their favorite networks and TV shows. They can also access special interest programs ranging from wine and leisure pursuits through to a wide variety of sports content.
The TV OnDemand feature means that guests can see the shows of their choice as and when they want to. They simply have to browse what is on offer on popular channels, including recent episodes, or previous seasons, and they can select them to view. This premium service offers great revenue opportunities for hotel and hospitality venues.
Additional services of RoomStar include access to favorite apps, including movie apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Crackle, plus game apps that will prove particularly popular for entertaining all the family.
Cabletime will be demonstrating all of these features on its booth (2046) at HITEC.
Shaun Oxenham, CEO at Cabletime, said: “We have kept all of the components in RoomStar that had proven so popular in Roomio before the acquisition, and simply enhanced it to provide a unique and comprehensive TV distribution service for the hotel industry. It has been a busy year of development, and we are looking forward to showing the fruits of our labor at HITEC.”
The Cabletime MediaStar range provides TV/AV and multimedia distribution products primarily for medium to large enterprises, which require future-proof, stable and proven solutions for live TV, corporate communications, multicasts, music TV, training and digital signage.
