Building on its long-term relationship with audio metering specialist RTW, Calrec has integrated the company’s brand new TMxCore metering platform across its full range of Argo IP consoles. Based on RTW’s trusted TouchMonitor TM7/TM9 technology, the TMxCore introduces several processing resources aimed at supporting evolving workflows in broadcast, post-production and immersive audio.
Launched at IBC2025, Calrec is the first technology partner to incorporate the TMxCore technology into a third-party product. Designed to adapt to changing broadcast workflows, Calrec’s adoption of the TMxCore enables Argo to embrace a raft of powerful new processing features, including AI-assisted tools for advanced speech intelligibility analysis. It also natively combines RTW’s industry-standard measurement accuracy, a fully compliant suite of loudness and metering tools, and metering of stereo, surround and a range of immersive formats including 5.1, 7.1.4, 9.1.6 and 22.2.
“Our customers are constantly developing their broadcast workflows to adapt to changing consumer and regulatory needs, and they trust RTW to keep pace,” says Calrec Managing Director, Sid Stanley. “As with our native integration of RTW’s TouchMonitor TM7, this development gives Argo S and Argo Q customers the ability to display the TMxCore metering directly on its high-resolution touchscreens, with a rackmounted option for the super compact Argo M.
“Our job is to make our customers’ lives as easy as possible, and this integration with RTW means that metering is one more thing they don’t have to worry about.”
Calrec has incorporated RTW technology directly into Argo’s control architecture since the platform’s launch in 2022. With the introduction of the plug-and-play 48-fader Argo M at IBC, the Argo family consists of five consoles, and all integrate seamlessly with RTW’s new high-performance metering platform in any environment. TMxCore is already designed to natively work with RAVENNA, AES67, ST2110 and Dante, so installation is as straightforward and as stress-free as operation.
“With TMxCore, we’re giving our customers the tools and adaptability they need to handle complex workflows — from immersive formats to AI-driven speech intelligibility analysis,” says RTW Director of Product Management, Thomas Valter. “It’s a robust evolution of our metering technology and a clear step towards the future.”
All Argo’s built-in RTW metering includes licenses that cover international loudness regulations, as well as multichannel and immersive audio applications. Additional licenses are available for expanding to other metering instruments and features.
