TVU Networks and Associated Press to Integrate TVU Alert Service with AP ENPS

TVU Alert Allows AP ENPS Users to Receive Mission-critical Message Alerts and Preview Incoming Video Streams Within ENPS

Mountain View, CA –TVU Networks, the global technology leader in live IP video solutions, and the Associated Press (AP), provider of the industry-leading AP ENPS multi-platform news production system, today announced that they have partnered to deliver an integrated solution designed to speed the notification of breaking news within a broadcast organization using the new TVU Alert service and AP’s ENPS. This new combined solution allows for mission-critical TVU Alerts to be sent directly to AP ENPS users and allow for the preview of incoming TVU video streams within AP ENPS. The new TVU Alert/AP ENPS integration will be demonstrated at the TVU Networks booth #SU4405 at the NAB convention this month, from April 18-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

TVU Alert is a new service from TVU Networks that quickly delivers enterprise-wide programming and operational alerts across multiple TVU transmitter, receiver and management devices. AP ENPS sees the TVU Alerts as urgent messages, similar to other content alerts like AP news wires. Details of a live news event including the name, description, location, event time and notes are displayed in addition to the unique ID of the transmitter and receiver. Additionally, the Alert provides users the ability to preview the live stream in ENPS.

“Today more than ever, reporting on breaking news first is what separates the most respected and ‘first choice’ news sources from their competition,” said Matt McEwen, VP of Product Management, TVU Networks. “With this new partnership, TVU Alert allows any user with a TVU device to create a short breaking news alert and send it to other TVU devices as well as AP ENPS. This allows everyone within the news organizations who has access to TVU devices or an ENPS client, such as reporters, directors, management and technical staff, to access details on a breaking story with just a mouse click. The system provides previews of incoming video streams related to breaking news within AP ENPS. We are excited to be working with the Associated Press on this new combined solution.”

“The ENPS, TVU integration allows journalists to have more critical information available to them, allowing them to focus on fast and accurate storytelling,” said Andy Wormser, Director of ENPS Product Design for The Associated Press.

AP ENPS powers more broadcast newsrooms worldwide than any other solution.
