Wise up with AVI-SPL‘s Latest Education Technology Solutions at FETC 2011

AVI-SPL to host Professional Development & Video Production Presentations; Plus Several Giveaways

How do you ensure students are learning in the most interactive and dynamic classroom possible? By integrating functional classroom technology that livens up the lesson plan and effectively train teachers so they’re getting the maximum benefits from their technology. That’s why AVI-SPL is heading to

FETC 2011

at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., this Feb. 1-3, where they’ll demonstrate professional development courses in addition to illustrating the benefits of incorporating video production into the classroom.

“We want our teachers to learn as much as possible when it comes to technology’s versatility in the classroom, and to use this knowledge to help improve their interactions, as well as student engagement,”? says Robert Moss, vice president of education sales, AVI-SPL. “Professional development training is a critical step in the right direction, one that can benefit not only teachers, but their students as well.”?

Beginning Tuesday evening Feb. 1, AVI-SPL will host 30-minute Professional Development presentations at booth # 1413 at FETC throughout the 3-day show. For a complete schedule, see below.

AVI-SPL’s training and professional development classes, ranging from 30 minutes to full day courses, are taught by SMART-certified trainers. Training Courses include SMART Notebook Basics, SMART Table Basics and SMART Grade Level Specific Notebook Advanced, among others. Because learning doesn’t stop when class is over, registered participants gain access to an online database library of supporting training materials. They also receive a video of their training session for future reference.

Additionally, AVI-SPL’s booth will host presentations on the benefits of incorporating video production into the classroom. According to research, people tend to retain 70-90 percent of what we see, hear and do, so what better way to get students learning more than with the hands-on experience of producing a video. Led by Sony, the presentations will show how K-12 educators can bring video production into the learning environment whether it’s video book reports, video yearbooks or school TV news programs.

The Integrating Video Production into the Classroom presentations will also begin Tuesday evening on Feb. 1. Refer to the below list for the complete schedule.

In addition, AVI-SPL will be giving away several prizes at the show including:

• A complete interactive classroom of the future featuring a SMART Board 680 with stand, a slate, response, document camera, BaltA® ReFlexâ„¢ chairs, Balt presentation cart and a ChiefA® CoPilotâ„¢
