InfoComm International recently announced the launch of a $1.5 million advertising and public relations campaign aimed at educating architects and building professionals about the value of contracting with AV companies that employ Certified Technology Specialists (CTS).
InfoComm International recently announced the launch of a $1.5 million advertising and public relations campaign aimed at educating architects and building professionals about the value of contracting with AV companies that employ Certified Technology Specialists (CTS).
As part of the campaign, InfoComm launched www.ctsforav.com , a Web site that offers examples of innovative projects that bring together outstanding design with communications capabilities. An online director allows building professionals to connect with qualified companies with CTS professionals on staff.
“Most audiovisual equipment is networked and installed in the built environment, making it critical to connect with architects and building professionals,” said Randal A. Lemke, executive director of InfoComm International, in a statement. “InfoComm has initiated this campaign to increase the awareness of the CTS credential among building professionals and to inform potential customers of the value of contracting with companies that invest in continuing education and certification for their employees. This new campaign is an important step to bringing the building and AV communities closer together.”
InfoComm’s CTS program boasts nearly 10,000 certified audiovisual professionals worldwide holding the credential, according to the association. The CTS and the advanced CTS Installation (CTS-I) designations are the only AV credentials that are ANSI accredited under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Schemes of Persons program, says the organization. InfoComm maintains an advanced CTS-Design credential (CTS-D), which is scheduled to be evaluated by ANSI in the coming months.
