EDID Emulator: Kramer VA-1VGA

Kramer's new VA-1VGA computer graphics EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) emulator is part of the company's Tools line of compact solutions. The VA-1VGA strives to ensure that if a display is turned off, temporarily disconnected, or unable to be seen by the source for some other reason, the source will still output the best possible signal resolution by "tricking" the source into thinking the display is still directly connected, according to the company. In instances when devices don't possess the ability to pass the EDID information, the VA-1VGA can be used to capture the display's EDID so that once it's inserted into the system, it will send the information to the source. Price: $195. Kramer Electronics. 888-275-6311.
