The NSCA Education Foundation raised $100,000 in 2009 to continue its goal to create and provide educational opportunities for students seeking a career path within the commercial electronic systems industry.

The foundation increased its number of student scholarships in 2009 and also provided financial assistance for student memberships to NSCA. The charitable contributions were also used to grow its endowment to fund future scholarship opportunities.

The foundation also established the Monte Wise Scholarship, in partnership with Bosch’s communications systems division, to reward students who exemplify Monte’s passions of music, art, and sound reinforcement.

Tom Frericks, NSCA Education Foundation president, says he was impressed with the generosity of the industry even during an economic downturn.

“The support received by the foundation ensures an optimistic future for years to come,” Frericks says. “The funds will help the foundation develop professional and knowledgeable contractors for greater success in the industry as a whole.”

The NSCA Education Foundation is funded by generous contributions from members of its President’s Club and industry members, and numerous charity events throughout the year, including the Putting Challenge and industry charity concert.
