Kanex introduces new HDMI 1.4 cables to enable new capabilities including higher resolution, audio return channel, color space, 3D, and Ethernet support. The new HDMI cables will have an array of upgraded abilities. The Kanex cables will be able to rid the clutter of extra Ethernet and audio cables. Previously, Ethernet cables had to be linked to HDMI sources and displays, now the HDMI Ethernet channel function allows one HDMI cable to transfer data. In terms of home theater systems, additional cables were a necessity for connection with audio surround-sound systems, now a simple solution allows audio systems to recognize data via a single HDMI cable. The new upgrade also brings digital photography to the foreground with the support of Additional Color Spaces, which allows more color spaces—such as sYCC601, Adobe RGB, and YCC601 colors—to be distinguished for digital photos.
