The newest member of the Apantac range of SDM receivers for 12G UHD, HDBaseT, AV over IP and NDI is a quad-split NDI Multiviewer, which decodes and displays up to 4 x 1080P high bandwidth NDI streams. Apantac has partnered with Intel and has built a series of SDM interfaces based on the Intel Smart Display Module (SDM) platform. These modules plug directly into a designated slot on SDM-compatible displays, eliminating the need for external adapter boxes, power supplies, and mounting hardware. Apantac SDM interfaces (cards) accept various input formats: 12G SDI, SDVoE, NDI, HDMI 2.0 over HDBaseT and converts them into an HDMI 2.0 signal usable by a monitor equipped with an Intel SDM slot.
This dedicated streamer and recorder is a perfect fit for small-scale events and Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) contribution encoding, or as a throwdown encoder for a full production switcher. A recent firmware upgrade adds the option of encoding H.265 video; customers can upgrade Pearl Nano with 4K streaming and recording capabilities through an optional feature add-on. The device can distribute content to any content distribution network (CDN) or streaming server using common protocols like RTMP and RTMPS, or more modern ones like SRT, HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), and Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH). Unify is powered by Epiphan Media Engine (EME), which is the same framework found in Epiphan’s Pearl line of hardware encoders and Epiphan Cloud, a cloud-based tool that adds remote production and multidevice management capabilities to Epiphan edge devices (Pearl systems, LiveScrypt).

Both units share a common architecture with the ‘-CO’ unit adding a second power inlet with internal changeover, to provide resilient power for devices which need it – all while maintaining the compact single rack unit (1RU) form-factor that broadcasters expect. This new high-end extender product series Vision XS is designed to put big multi-purpose 4K60 KVM-over-IP performance into a small housing. Compared to its previous models, the VisionXS uses standard networks at up to 10Gbit/sec. An important advantage of VisionXS extenders is the ability to combine them with G&D’s matrix systems. The integrated “IP-MUX” feature allows one console to manage several target IP addresses of up to 20 computer sources without the need for additional hardware. As an additional safety feature, each device is equipped with two transmission ports. This enables fast switching to the fallback transmission line. No additional hardware is required to use the transmission redundancy; the second port can be enabled via software key.
