Associations Focus: Survey Reveals Member Concerns

Oct 1, 2005 12:00 PM

NSCA’s Summer 2005 Member Survey results identified the most prevalent industry issues and initiatives that affect all levels of systems professionals. Among the many hot topics in business today, training and certification was ranked as the number one concern of an overwhelming 47 percent of respondents.

“It’s very encouraging that our industry recognizes the need to develop job skills through training and establish technical expertise through certification,” says Brad Nelson, NSCA board member and president of Sound Solutions Northwest. “This demonstrates that our members are interested in performing higher-quality work in the industry, and the NSCA EST Program provides the tools needed to do just that. It is the only hands-on certification program in systems integration that is based on EST training and apprenticeship guidelines.”

Other top business concerns noted in the survey were: Improved Research (24 percent), Workforce Development (18 percent), and Better Health Care Plans (12 percent). For more information on this survey and other market intelligence, visit www.nsca.org.
