Change comes to all things, so it necessarily comes to S&VC magazine.Permit me to introduce the new editor. His name is Nat Hecht. He comes fromNewton, MA, and received an engineering degree from Tufts University in1984. He’s been in about every corner of the sound business, working for E.U. Wurlitzer, the huge music store in Boston, and running his own soundcompany, Audible Sound, in Boston. In 1988, he joined Everything Audio inLos Angeles, and designed for and sold to recording studios. Then he joinedJBL, where he was an applications engineer and did customer training andtechnical writing, eventually becoming product manager for Soundcraft. Hethen went to work for the USA distributor of DAS loudspeakers, then openingand running the DAS office in the United States.

Nat Hecht brings new ideas and a new point of view. Over time, the magazinewill change. How could it not? I changed it when I took over as editor, andchanged it almost continuously during my tenure. Here’s something, however, that won’t change. Nat Hecht will make S&VC provide real service to theprofessional careers of its readers. And then do it all over again nextmonth.
