Communications Specialties Mourns Sudden Death of Director of Sales

Damian DiCarlo, director of sales for Communications Specialties (CSI; www.commspecial.com), died in an automobile accident on Thursday, September 16, near his home in Orange, California. He was 34. DiCarlo leaves behind a wife, Karen, and two children, Daniel (age 4) and Michael (age 1).
DiCarlo joined Communications Specialties’ sales department in 1999 and, after a series of promotions, was named director of sales in July 2003. In this position, DiCarlo was responsible for supervising CSI’s internal sales team, cultivating relationships throughout CSI’s various distribution channels, and spearheading many of the company’s worldwide sales efforts. He was based out of CSI’s California sales office.
Prior to his years at CSI, DiCarlo enjoyed a career within the professional AV industry, including more than six years as international sales manager at Inline. He held a B.A. in political science from the University of California at Irvine and later earned a certificate in international marketing from California State University at Fullerton and a certificate of training in export administration regulations from the U.S. Department of Commerce.
CSI President and CEO John Lopinto expressed the view of many CSI employees in saying, “We are stunned and saddened at this heart-breaking news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Damian’s wife and children at this time. Damian was a rare asset to his customers, his coworkers, and the AV industry. Every day we will miss him.”
