Crispin Develops Advanced Media Protocol Control for Grass Valley K2 Server

Jun 7, 2006 2:45 PM

Crispin Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of broadcast automation software, equipment, services and support, announced that it has developed Advanced Media Protocol (AMP) control for the Grass Valley K2 server.

The new AMP protocol allows Crispin to send commands via a conventional RS-422 serial link or via an Ethernet connection. IP control via the AMP protocol offers a major advantage, it opens up a serial port that can be used to control additional devices or interfaces. Crispin can now control all Grass Valley™ Profile®, K2™, M-Series™, Turbo™, and digital news production products using this protocol.

“The value of the AMP protocol is significant,” said Dave Neal, CEO of Crispin Corporation. “It’s addition adds another level of flexibility to our device control abilities.”
