Fergason Patents Brighten Displays

Menlo Park, Calif.-based Fergason Patent Properties, a developer and licensor of LCD and display technology, entered individual licensing agreements with JVC, Lite-On Technology Corp., and LG.Philips LCD for the use of its System Synchronized Brightness Control (SSBC) technology.

Menlo Park, Calif.-based Fergason Patent Properties, a developer and licensor of LCD and display technology, entered individual licensing agreements with JVC, Lite-On Technology Corp., and LG.Philips LCD for the use of its System Synchronized Brightness Control (SSBC) technology. SSBC uses synchronous modulation of backlight brightness and video signal to improve the image quality of LCD and projection displays, a process also known as High Dynamic Range (HDR) video. JVC and Lite-On manufacture DVD players and recorders among their products. LG.Philips LCD manufactures a range of TFT-LCD products that includes televisions, monitors, and commercial electronics.
