Innovations in Technology Finalists Announced

Finalists have been announced in the NSCA (www.nscaexpo.org) Expo
Innovations in Technology Awards. Spanning seven product categories,
three finalists for each have been chosen out of more than 100 entries
by an independent voting committee. During the NSCA Expo March 19
through 21 in Las Vegas, attendees will cast their vote for the winning
products.

Judged against a standard of excellence and the impact each has had
on the advancement of the electronic systems industry, the 2004
finalists are the following: within the audio category are EAW’s
Digitally Steerable Array Series, Beyerdynamic’s MCWD, and
Whirlwind’s E Snake. Within the business productivity category:
d-Tools’ System Integrator v. 3 with Business Manager Module,
Smart’s Sympodium, and Vid Cad’s VidVAD ESP. Within the
control systems category: Extron’s Ethernet control interface
with IR Learner, Vity USA’s Mini-Monopro, and Xantech’s
SmartPad LCD touch-pad controller. Within the convergence category:
Extron’s 5-input integrated A/V switcher with audio amplifier and
IP Link Ethernet control, MessageNet’s MessageNet Express, and
Wireworks’ AV2000 audio/video multipin system. Within the
security/fire/life safety category: CommTech Wireless’ MAXPage;
Ionit’s ionitRT, and Tandberg’s Tandberg Tactical II.
Within the video/display category: Blonder Tongues’ digital
high-definition processor, Communications Specialties’ Pure Digital
FiberLink 8000, and Multidyne’s digital RBD and VGA fiber-optic
transport, and Media Converter. Within the Web site category, Crestron,
d-Tools, and Vity USA were selected.

Each product will be on display in the Innovations in Technology
Awards pavilion beginning with the opening day of the expo, March 19.
Votes will be tallied after 5 p.m. Saturday, March 20. Winners will be
on display Sunday, March 21 until the expo closes at 2 p.m. In its
second year, the Innovations in Technology Awards program is
cosponsored by Sound & Video Contractor magazine and prosoundweb.com.
