NEC Solutions (America; www.necvisualsystems.com) has introduced EcoCare, a recycling component of NEC’s CustomerCare service program portfolio. EcoCare provides a quick, simple, and environmentally friendly approach to assist corporations and consumers in the disposal of outdated projector hardware.

Under EcoCare NEC Solutions America accepts all manufacturers’ projectors up to 40 pounds for recycling and disposal in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements. NEC can arrange for product pickup and provide packing material for the return of NEC projectors to make the recycling process hasslefree. Upon request participants will receive an official certificate of disposal for each recycled projector.

“In this environmentally conscious world, NEC customers can be assured they have a partner that supports their recycling efforts to help ensure a clean and healthy environment for generations to come,” says Ron Gillies, senior vice president and general manager for the visual systems division of NEC Solutions America.

NEC incorporates EcoMode lamp conservation technology into its projectors and offers projectors consuming less than 1W of power in standby mode in compliance with Executive Order 13221. In addition, NEC Corp. is committed to green activities and manufacturing practices across the globe, including the planting of more than 300,000 trees in 2003.
