Scala to Acquire Streambase Technologies

Scala (www.scala.com) has signed an agreement with the major shareholders of Streambase Technologies to acquire Norway-based Streambase Technologies AS (www.streambase.no).
“This acquisition is a natural,” says Gerard Bucas, chairman and CEO of Scala. “Scala’s InfoChannel platform is already the leading worldwide content creation and delivery platform for large digital signage networks, while Streambase adds a sophisticated, field-proven, content management system coupled with their high-performance streaming video server technology, allowing simultaneous delivery of rich media content to the desktop or the Web in addition to digital signage displays. This will significantly expand our product offering and allow our partners and value-added resellers to engage in a larger set of opportunities.
“Streambase also provides us with better access to the Scandinavian market, where they have already won some large contracts partnering with IBM and other strategic partners in the region. Together our objective is to become the leading international supplier of end-to-end software solution platforms for content management and delivery of digital media.
