SPL President/CEO Earns Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Chad Gillenwater, president and CEO of SPL Integrated Solutions (www.splis.com), was named a winner by the professional services firm Ernst and Young LLP for the Ernst and Young (www.ey.com/perspectives) Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 Awards in Maryland in the media and entertainment category.

Chad Gillenwater, president and CEO of SPL Integrated Solutions (www.splis.com), was named a winner by the professional services firm Ernst and Young LLP for the Ernst and Young (www.ey.com/perspectives) Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 Awards in Maryland in the media and entertainment category. Gillenwater was selected from 28 finalists in Maryland by a panel of judges composed of local community and business leaders. Award winners were announced at an award banquet in June 2004 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore.

Gillenwater has more than 30 years experience in the low-voltage construction industry, ranging from project management to senior executive positions. In 1992 he was part of the three-person management team that formed Signal Perfection (dba SPL), where he was responsible for finance, marketing, and day-to-day operations. He has been CEO since the company started, and in 2002 as SPL expanded, he also became president of the company. He has an MBA and is a licensed certified public accountant in Maryland.

Gillenwater is eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year 2004 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Spring, California, on November 20, 2004.
