Staff Addition to Increase NSCA Regional Activity

The NSCA’s new position, volunteer coordinator, was filled with the July hiring of Kristin Biedermann. Working out of NSCA headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Biedermann will be charged with rekindling the NSCA’s volunteer spirit and further expanding recognition programs. The creation of two new councils, one for consultants and the other for independent sales representatives, will be one of her early tasks.

“The NSCA is very fortunate to have so many great people serving on our volunteer committees,” said Chuck Wilson, NSCA executive director. “To help committee members maximize their volunteer experience, and so that the NSCA can benefit from volunteers’ industry knowledge, we have decided to add a dedicated staff person to manage these activities. We are pleased to have Kristin join the team. Her past work experience, enthusiasm and training will make her a great asset to our organization.”

With the addition of Biedermann, the NSCA hopes to further identify grassroots initiatives. “Our long-term goal is to increase our regional activities, meeting the specific needs of our members,” Wilson said.

Prior to joining the NSCA, Biedermann worked at the Marriott Hotel as an event planner. In December 2000, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. E-mail her at [email protected].

Manufacturers’ Council Welcomes New Member

Bill Eskew has been nominated to serve on the NSCA Manufacturers’ Council. Lou Valente, the council’s chair, said, “His demonstrated leadership skills and positive energy will be great assets.”

Eskew, vice president of sales and marketing for Quam-Nichols in Chicago, Illinois, said, “I am looking forward to serving on the Manufacturers’ Council….I can’t think of a better way to serve the commercial electronic systems industry and help bring positive change and benefit to the manufacturer membership.”

The council provides a forum for addressing issues, finding solutions and using collective influence to take beneficial action for manufacturers in the electronic systems integration industry.
